Alcohol & Drug Testing FAQs
Which breathalysers do you supply for the workplace?
We are the South African agent for Alcolizer Technology and supply hand-held breathalysers such as the Alcolizer HH3 and HH4, the Alcolizer LE5, and fixed Centurion units for gates and turnstiles. We also stock BACtrack and Armas testers for lighter-duty use.
Can a breathalyser be linked to our access control system?
Yes. Alcolizer Centurion breathalysers can be integrated with access control platforms so that a person must pass a breath test before a gate or turnstile opens. Every test is recorded, which simplifies record keeping for HR and safety teams.
What is self-testing, and why do companies use it?
Self-testing lets employees check their own breath alcohol level before they reach the plant entrance. It gives people the chance to avoid a failed test at the gate, which supports a culture of personal responsibility while the company still enforces its alcohol policy.
Are your breathalysers suitable for a zero tolerance alcohol policy?
Yes. A zero tolerance policy depends on accurate, reliable instruments, and our Alcolizer range uses fuel cell sensors designed for workplace testing. Drawing on our work with mining companies, we can also help you set up a clear, fair testing procedure.
How often does a workplace breathalyser need calibration?
Breathalysers need regular calibration to stay accurate, and the interval depends on the model and how many tests you run. We offer calibration and a fast module exchange service for Alcolizer instruments, along with operator training for your team.
