Alcolizer Technology advises that while calibration and repair services for the Wall Mount 3 (WM3) device in Australia ceased on June 30, 2022, these services, along with those for the WM4 device, will remain available in Southern Africa until 2025. This provision allows clients in the region sufficient opportunity to transition to the Alcolizer Quantum, our advanced breath alcohol testing solution.
The Alcolizer Wall Mount 3 and 4 devices require an internal gas cylinder refill or replacement every 12 months. However, numerous supply chain factors beyond the control of RunRite Electronics have rendered the sourcing of this gas mix increasingly unreliable. Consequently, the servicing of the product has become costly, and the turnaround times for basic calibrations have escalated to unreasonable levels.
Why Upgrade?
The Alcolizer WM3 has served its purpose as a robust and reliable breath testing device. However, these units are now over 20 years old have moved beyond being obsolete. Likewise the Wall Mount 4 devices currently installed in South Africa do not meet the latest compliance standards. Therfore critical upgrades are necessary:
- Component Availability: New parts are no longer being manufactured or readily available.
- Standards Compliance: The WM3 does not meet the updated AS3547:2019 certification standards and cannot switch to the required unit of measure, grams/210L of breath.
- Service Costs: Even basic calibration costs have escalated due to the design of the WM3 and WM4 devices, newer module exchange based designs decrease the cost and increase turnaround times.

To ensure users can confidently transition to new devices, Alcolizer offers online training courses covering the operation of the Quantum devices, as well as broader alcohol and drug testing protocols. Of course we facilite on-site training as well!
